(Mason, OH) - The Warren County Board of Developmental Disabilities will host a free egg hunt for children with disabilities starting at noon on Saturday, March 28, at Makino Park’s adaptive baseball fields in Mason, located at 6100 Kopfler Court.
This event has historically been hosted at the Springboro Miracle League Field, but will be hosted at Makino Park in 2026 to celebrate the opening of its new adaptive baseball field.
The event welcomes children ages 17 and under with developmental disabilities, as well as their siblings. Visitors are encouraged to arrive at noon to take photos with the bunny, make a craft, and explore the accessible playground.
There will be three separate Egg Hunts taking place on the adaptive baseball fields:
- 12:30 p.m.: A traditional egg hunt.
- 1 p.m.: A wheelchair and walker accessible egg hunt. This will include eggs raised above the ground, making them easier for people to reach and collect without needing to bend over.
- 1:30 p.m.: An egg hunt with eggs that make noise for individuals who are blind or low vision.
Over 2,400 eggs with candy and prizes will be dispersed between the three egg hunts. Participants are encouraged to bring a basket to collect eggs and a camera to capture memories.
All egg hunts are free, and no registration required.
About Makino Park
The land Makino Park was developed on was donated by the Warren County Board of Developmental Disabilities and developed by the Mason Park & Recreation Foundation, with the help of the City of Mason and the Mason Challenger League. Makino Park was developed with accessibility and inclusivity in mind.
Makino Park features an accessible restroom with an adult changing table, an accessible playground, and two adaptive baseball fields.
The field was designed to remove barriers often found at typical baseball fields, featuring flat surfaces and dugouts without barriers.
